Location
The Rise is a 735 acre, master planned resort community on south facing slopes 3.5 km west of the city centre of Vernon, British Columbia.
Located approximately 441 km northeast of Vancouver, and 556 km west of Calgary, Alberta and overlooking Okanagan Lake, The Rise offers spectacular southerly views of both the lake and Okanagan Valley.
It is located 25 minutes from Kelowna International airport and world class ski resort, Silver Star.
Renowned for its fresh water lakes, rolling hills and rich orchards, the Okanagan Valley also offers world class golf and skiing and one of the warmest climates in Canada.
Vernon is home to three beautiful fresh water lakes: Okanagan Lake, Swan Lake and Kalamalka Lake.
Master Plan
Phases one, two and three are now complete as The Rise is a resort community with several neighbourhoods, vineyards and the newly opened Fred Couples Signature Golf Course. It has sold more than 200 units.
The $1 billion resort community is being built in phases over ten to 15 years and at full build out will comprise 660 resort residential units, 550 resort commercial units - hotels, condos, winery and vineyards, Golf Course and Clubhouse, recreational centres
At full build out, The Rise, will include several neighbourhoods consisting of home sites and villas intertwined around a Fred Couples Signature Golf Course, vineyards, boutique hotel and private beach club.
According to independent consultants, EBA Engineering, The Rise undertook the most extensive and detailed environmental study in the Okanagan Valley at the time before starting its development in 2005.
One third of the land will be developed, with one third being preserved and one third being dedicated to the golf course.
Phase One, Two, Three
Phases one, two, and three, comprising four neighbourhoods, the golf course and 5.5 acres of vineyard is now complete.
Construction on several villas, model homes and private residences has been finished.
The exclusive Watermark neighbourhood has a limited inventory of some of the best view sites while The Rises first four neighbourhoods are nearly sold out.
The resort architecture is inspired by a Tuscan/Mediterranean theme and a variety of views including lake, city and vineyard views are available.

Fred Couples Signature Golf Course Quick Facts (See Golf Club at The Rise Fact Sheet)
The Golf Club at The Rise features Western Canadas first Fred Couples Signature Golf Course.
It is situated on a ridge overlooking the northwest and northeast arms of Okanagan Lake.
12 of the 18 holes feature dramatic lake views.
It has been designed by Couples/Bates Design, an affiliation between PGA Tour Pro Fred Couples and award-winning golf course architect Gene Bates.
It was built by BMR Golf whose BC credits include the award-winning Greywolf at Panorama Mountain Resort, The Dunes in Kamloops and The Harvest Club in Kelowna.
The Fred Couples Signature Golf Course is now open for the 2009 golf season and will hold its official Course Dedication with Fred Couples.

The Rise Cellars Vineyard and Winery
The Rise Cellars is owned and operated by Leona Snider and family. Leona Snider is president and CEO of The Rise.
The existing 17 acres of vineyard had its first harvest in 2008..
Grape varieties planted include: Riesling, Pinot Noir, Gewόrztraminer and Pinot Gris grapes.
The Developer
The Okanagan Hills Development Corporation (OHDC) is developing The Rise. OHDC is
owned by Leona Snider, President and CEO. Leona Snider has owned the property since 1990.
