Economic Benefits Summary Watermark Beach Resort
is providing town residents with both short and long-term economic
opportunities:
1. The resort generated millions of
dollars in development and construction jobs
2. The resort is generating tens of thousands of dollars in post-development
(restaurant, convention centre, resort management) jobs resulting from
increased tourism and recreation;
3. The resort is helping promote the town and further stimulate tourist interest
in the Osoyoos, generating additional tourism revenue for local business
owners;
4. A substantial increase in town property tax revenue can be used for
infrastructure maintenance such as road upgrades; sidewalk rehabilitation and
development; storm sewer upgrades, and public park upgrades and maintenance;
5. Hundreds of thousands in collected development and permit fees have been
infused into the Town of Osoyoos budget for use in the wider community

tourism levels have not traditionally been high. Combined with a revitalized
downtown, it is expected that local merchants and the community in general will
benefit greatly from a stable, year-round flow of tourist dollars being infused
into the Town of Osoyoos.

Street, serving to establish Main Street continuity by connecting existing
businesses and services on the north and south side of the bridge with those on
Main Street’s primary east corridor.

development, as it is being developed on pre-existing commercial land;
3. The resort will encourages downtown densification and act as a prohibiting
