The Rise, the under-construction, $1-billion golf resort community near Vernon, has been chosen as the site for Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation's Moonlight Serenade Charity Gala on Friday.

The black-tie event will be held in an area which has some of the best views of Okanagan Lake.

Live music will waft from the Heartstrings Quartet and the Ritz Melodia Salon Orchestra and the four-course meal will be paired with wines from The Rise's own winery by winemaker Tilman Hainle.

A live auction features two tickets to the 2007 Masters golf tournament in Augusta, Georgia.

Such tickets haven't been available to the public since 1972.

Tickets for the gala are $150 and can be obtained by calling 549-4481.

The hospital foundation will use the proceeds in the maternity, child, emergency, operating and cancer departments.
