On a recent visit to the Wyndansea oceanfront golf resort in Ucluelet B.C.,a federal cabinet minister talked about funding opportunities to upgrade the Long Beach airport.

Minister of Natural Resources Gary Lunn talked about funding the project through a $33 billion infrastructure program known as the Building Canada Plan and the $1 billion available toB.C. communities for infrastructure such as airports.

“Clearly, this is an issue of safety and reliability,”said Lunn,who after attempts to fly in, had to drive fromSidney to Ucluelet and back.
