Taste the wine from your yard Newest home sites at The Rise are nestled among the vines In the newest neighbourhood to be released at The Rise, wine lovers can almost step outside the back door and nibble on a few grapes. The Rise, Okanagan's signature resort community by Okanagan Hills Development Corp., has announced it is expanding the master-planned golf and wine resort with the launch of a new neighbourhood. Belago will feature a limited release of 18 vineyard home sites. Loosely translated from Spanish, Belago means "beautiful lake view." The home sites are nestled into the hillside along The Rise vineyards. Each offers stunning views of Okanagan Lake at prices starting at $399,900. "This is a wonderful opportunity for those who are passionate about wine to be part of a growing community that feels the same way," says Leona Snider, president and CEO of The Rise. "Homeowners at Belago will feel as though they own the vineyard, as it is right in their backyard." With the vineyard expanding to almost seven hectares this summer, homeowners at Belago will experience the growth of the vineyard and winery first-hand. The Cellars at The Rise is the name for the family-run winery and design details for the winery will be announced later this year, with construction scheduled to be completed in 2009. The winery will include a visitor facility, VIP tasting room and private wine storage. "Those who purchase in Belago will literally be able to watch their investment grow with the vines," says Snider. Belago is a neighbourhood with an estate feel, as the large lots allow for backyard swimming pools. With its central location and close proximity to all amenities, homeowners at Belago retain their secluded piece of vineyard paradise -- without sacrificing convenience. The sites also enjoy amazing views of the vineyard and Okanagan Lake. Belago is the final release of single-family home sites at The Rise. The Rise also opened the Fred Couples Signature Golf Course with a course dedication by professional golfer Couples in June. He teed off for the inaugural round with Jarome Iginla of the Calgary Flames. Membership in the golf club is only available to homeowners. Okanagan Hills Development Corp. is developing The Rise on 294 hectares of land located about four kilometres west of Vernon. For more information, visit www.therise.ca.
