Lifestyle Homes was established in 1997 by a veteran developer to build high quality, distinctive homes and to seek innovative home building practices. It is a diverse builder with offerings ranging from entry level to executive homes. The Calgary-based home building company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Devcon Developments, which has been active in land development in western Canada for the last 15 years. With the launch of the Elements home building program, Lifestyle Homes is fulfilling its vision to become Canada’s most innovative home builder. The comprehensive and flexible eco home building program is breaking new ground by exceeding current environmental sustainability standards. Award-winning commitment to customer satisfaction has also contributed to Lifestyle Homes’ growing reputation. It was recently awarded The Golden Hammer award from the Alberta New Home Warranty Program for no unresolved home buyer concerns in ten years of business. Lifestyle Homes started building homes on land developed by Devcon, but as its homes quickly became known for their quality and innovation it started working with other developers. The company grew as its homes earned them most coveted form of marketing: word-of-mouth advertising. Due to its rigorous commitment to quality, Lifestyle Homes enjoys premiums from the Alberta New Home Warranty Program that are generally reserved for only the largest and most powerful builders. It carefully selects its trades people and there are few that make the cut. Those that do often become clients after seeing the quality demanded of them. Lifestyle Homes are in some of finest neighbourhoods in southern Alberta. Its first homes were in a neighbourhood in Chestermere and it quickly moved on to higher volume homes in the Calgary communities of Rocky Ridge Ranch and Royal Oak. Lifestyle Homes is currently building in the communities of Drake Landing, Okotoks, Lott Creek in Elbow Valley, Silverado, New Discovery and West Park in Calgary, The Ranch in Strathmore, and Montrose in High River. In conjunction with the Elements eco home building program, Lifestyle Homes opened Canada’s 1st Eco Home Interpretive Centre in Okotoks at Drake Landing. The Interpretive Centre was constructed to educate home buyers on environmentally sustainable home building practices and is built into two Lifestyle Homes, to demonstrate the commitment to style and quality that today's innovations are allowing. Its exhibits explain the features and environmental benefits of everything from high-tech geothermal and solar thermal systems, to alternative insulation and clay wall coverings. Aside from pioneering a new way to make environmentally sustainable homes more accessible and less intimidating to home buyers with their new Elements initiative, Lifestyle Homes is also in the process of preparing building plans for recreational properties and multi-family housing. | |
