Courses up and running

McKenzie Meadows Golf Course in southeast Calgary opened Friday on permanent greens and tees.

River's Edge Golf Course in Okotoks teed up Thursday for play.

Golfers are also swinging the clubs at Fox Hollow Golf Course in northeast Calgary.

Both Silverwing Golf Course, in northeast Calgary, and Boulder Creek Golf Course, in Langdon, are set to open to the public Thursday. The Windmill Golf Group courses began taking reservations for tee times yesterday.

All three courses at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort are up and running at the B.C. hot-spot.

Fairmont offers 45 holes of golf at its picturesque location on Hwys. 93/95 in the majestic B.C. Rockies, three hours west of Calgary.

Through Thursday, players can stay at the historic Fairmont Hot Springs Resort Lodge for only $89 per person (based on double occupancy) per night and golf for free at any one of the three courses -- the 18-hole Riverside, the 18-hole Mountainside and the nine-hole Par-3 Creekside.

GREEN WITH ENVY?

Wintergreen Golf & Country Club is offering a Value 8 Pack program that gives golfers more reason to play the picturesque, mountain golf course just 30 minutes southwest of Calgary.

Green fee vouchers can be purchased in blocks of eight at a 23% off the regular price and can be used all season long.

Green fee vouchers are good for one 18-hole round of golf any time during the 2009 season and include shared power cart rental and full use of Wintergreen's extensive practice facilities.

There are no date or time restrictions on the vouchers, and tee-time reservations can be made by contacting Wintergreen Golf & Country Club at Bragg Creek.
